On the one side, legislatures and courts are further strengthening data protection in the sense of GDPR. On the other side, the European legislature more recently seems to follow a market-oriented approach, which aims to facilitate access to date and economic participation of consumers. This has become visible in the Directive 2019\/770 on contracts for the supply of digital content and digital services and in the Commission\u2018s proposal for a Data Governance Act.
