It is largely undisputed that we need European responses to global challenges, especially in security policy. But how can they be formulated and implemented? Do we need to overcome nation-state thinking, as is often suggested, or rather develop it? Is Europe suffering from too many national ambitions without a common vision? What was once discussed as an academic dilemma is now an existential question.
It also arises with regard to the current science policy debate on research security and the contribution of research to European security in times of geopolitical crises: Which path should Europe take here?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
