Through examining reading and writing practices as epistemic processes, she analyzes how knowledge is transformed or \u201cmaintained\u201d through pen and paper practices and reconstructs convoluted itineraries of knowledge transfer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elaine Leong is a historian of medicine, science and technology and associate professor of History at University College London.
