Using variations of scale, he analyzes how small events can ripple through the system, destabilize it and bring it to the edge of structural collapse. Based on the sociology of knowledge of Karl Mannheim, he develops a theory of societal change that integrates events, conjunctures, systems and civilizations in an empirical philosophy of history.

This event is addressed to HIAS fellows and their tandem partners.

Image Information

Frédéric Vandenberghe © Claudia Höhne, HIAS Hamburg

[107
post-9461","events","type-events","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","event_type-thursday-colloquium
["GET
