The powers, perils, and potential of philanthropy and foreign aid

#Thursday Colloquium by Brooke Ackerly

In her talk Brooke Ackerly takes on the problem that has plagued critics of philanthropy: given the roots of structural injustice in global and national political economies that benefit the wealthy and function to concentrate wealth, is there a role for philanthropy and foreign aid in addressing those injustices?

This event is addressed to HIAS fellows and their tandem partners.
