“To change the world”, a slogan first coined during the 1840s, has become part of the intellectual folklore. But do these words describe well what is intended? – At his #ThursdayColloquium Andreas Dorschel will discuss a few conceptual issues raised by the slogan.
“Changing the world”: On the poetics of the manifesto: Processes of fundamental social transformation do not just happen – if they happen at all –; they are articulated, in images for instance or in words. Andreas Dorschel, in his research project, investigates the poetics – i.e., the verbal articulation – of the prime textual genre that aims at ‘changing the world’: the manifesto.
