Lorraine Daston inspired a lively discussion with countless examples of how rules control all areas of our lives and how they can change, how they become rigid, or vice versa, and how once bothersome regulations become everyday norms. And, moreover, how they can change.

The discussion was introduced and moderated by the HIAS alumna Racha Kirakosian, Lorraine Daston’s book Rules serves as a basis.
