#Thursday Colloquium with Jörg Bibow
Jörg Bibow’s presentation provides an overview of his research project during his time at HIAS, which concerns current developments in money and payment transactions. The world of money and payments is changing rapidly. Technological innovation, competition, regulation and central bank policy are the main driving forces. Increasing global networking and the accelerating pace of payment flows are the hallmarks of this development. These changes affect the daily lives of citizens and the economic environment of companies. However, transformative innovations can also be accompanied by new risks. Political decision-makers have to weigh up a wide range of factors in order to exercise a formative influence on those developments. Even geostrategic considerations are relevant when assessing the rapidly changing global environment.
