Walk & Talk I To moments free and happy… Mary Warburg
We’ve heard of the brilliant cultural historian Aby Warburg, and of the successful banker Max Warburg Sr. too – but of Mary? The artist Mary Warburg (1866-1934), Aby’s wife, has so far been overshadowed by her husband. Now her work is being properly discovered for the first time in a major publication – and exhibited in the Barlach House. Her still lifes, portraits, but above all landscapes, atmospheric views of Hamburg and „urban oddities“ document a very independent view and independent thinking!
Our art excursion includes a walk through Jenisch Park, Hamburg’s most beautiful English landscape park. On our way back, we would like to take you on a ferry boat.
Start: 3:30 pm at Barlach Haus (see HVV)
