#Thursday Colloquium with Isabel Rodríguez Peña
In her lecture Isabel Rodríguez Peña shares insights into her current research findings: The aim of her project is to analyze the collateral effects of the energy transition in Mexico, using the NEXUS methodology, adapted to address the relationship water/ energy/ minerals. Departing from the socio-ecological paradox that, although the transition aims to reduce CO₂ emissions and increase the share of renewable energies, it also generates new pressures in already vulnerable territories, the project examines how the greater inclusion of renewable energies such as solar and wind intensifies the extraction of critical minerals (lithium, copper, zinc). The results seek to inform more equitable energy and territorial policies.
This event is addressed to fellows and their tandem partners.
